My name is Kamen Petrov, I am a qualified psychodramatist, psychologist and Jungian psychotherapist based in Barcelona. I first experienced the healing potential of psychodrama more than 20 years ago when I started using it as a means of working with my own difficulties. Later on, I continued working with psychodrama in the course of my training as a psychodramatist and in my psychotherapeutic practice.
My practice focuses on individual psychotherapy for adults, adolescents, and children and on group psychotherapy based on Psychodrama. I also work with Sandplay therapy, artwork, relaxation and meditation, active imagination and dream interpretation.
I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology from Alpen-Adria University, Austria, a postgraduate diploma from the Training Program for Jungian Psychotherapists in Sofia, in collaboration with the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP), and a diploma as a psychodramatist from Psychotherapy 2000 Foundation in Sofia. In the course of my training, I have also studied at Université Aix-Marseilles, France and the International School of Analytical Psychology (ISAP), Zurich. I have a private psychotherapeutic practice in Barcelona and teach Role Play and Psychodrama at the master’s program of the Art Therapy school Metafora.
In my practice, I work toward helping people get rid of their symptoms and get relief. However, and more importantly, I help people work with and resolve the problems lying underneath the symptoms, which results in finding meaningful and lasting solutions to their difficulties. Thus, the most important aspect of my work is to help my clients get in touch with resources hidden in themselves and develop their personal potential.
